It was announced on March 23, 2022, via Styles' social media along with the release date and a trailer. It is definitely the most personal record that I think I’ve made, it’s definitely the most intimately made thing I’ve done so far. Obviously, the pandemic and everything kind of added to the way it was made, by a few people in a small room, and whether we kind of moved around the world a couple of times, it was pretty much kind of that cool group of few people that I’ve worked with. I think it’s also the most free I’ve ever felt making music, it’s the most proud I’ve felt on anything I’ve made.

This isn't the only Vallez print they own; in February, a drawing of their 2021 holiday card was also spotted in the background of Prince Harry zoom. She wrote, "Omg. I am DYING!!!! A year or so ago, Meghan’s assistant requested prints of some of the drawings I created of her and Harry. I never expected to see that they REALLY have them in their house." Angelenos can now visit “Harry’s House,” a pop-up shop promoting pop musician Harry Styles’ new album of the same name.

These are the California cities where $150,000 still buys you a home. Could you live here?

His three solo albums thus far — 2017's Harry Styles, 2019's Fine Line, and 2022's Harry's House — have explored soft rock, psychedelic pop, and synth-pop. With such genre-fluid diversity in his discography, there's something for everyone to indulge in. "I've been so, so inspired by every artist in this category," said Styles, who was up against other industry titans like Beyoncé, Adele, Lizzo and Coldplay. "On nights like tonight, it's important for us to remember that there is no such thing as 'best' in music. I don't think any of us sit in the studio, making decisions based on what will get us [an award]."

Despite the track's buoyant melody, its true essence conveys a more gloomy narrative. Styles explores the idea that nothing remains the same once being put into the limelight — a poignant message from one of pop's biggest stars. The message foreshadowed Styles' subsequent ventures after the record's release, including a step into acting and the exploration of a new sound in Harry's House. Despite being the title track, "Fine Line" isn't just a deep cut from Styles' acclaimed 2019 album, it's an outlier in his whole discography — but in a beautiful way.

Daylight

Alongside "Late Night Talking," Styles also debuted the harmony-driven hit "Boyfriends" during his Coachella performances. In the song, Styles soulfully and painfully observes all the complex feelings of loss, loneliness, anxiety and grief that surround a failing relationship. "They take you for granted / They don't know, they're just misunderstanding / You." When they must leave town, Styles asks for a memento to remember them by, singing, "So give me all of your love / Give me something to dream about." However, as the album began to find its distinctive, slow-grooving, Laurel Canyon-inspired '70s sound, its title slowly took on a deeper, more personal meaning for the "Watermelon Sugar" singer.

Alluding to their power-couple status as fixtures of both the music and film industries, Styles continues, “I bring the pop / You got ... The cinema / I bring the pop to the cinema.” Oh, to be the cinema to Styles’ pop. By our calculations, at least eight of the 13 songs on “Harry’s House” are about being madly enamored with someone else. “Finally, it doesn’t feel like my life is over if this album isn’t a commercial success,” Styles told the magazine. As of the album announcement, the door has changed to the Harry’s House cover art.

It also became his first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, proving that he has staying power as a pop star in his own right. And as one of two songs with more than 2 billion Spotify streams alone, "Watermelon Sugar" has also proven to be a Harry Styles classic. One of Styles' boldest steps into the rock genre, "Kiwi" tells a story about a rebellious and free-spirited girl who captures Styles' attention, despite knowing she's no good for him. In this lively track, Styles trades polished pop for unfiltered rock vocals, showcasing an edgier side he hadn't displayed in his boy band days — both lyrically and sonically. The release of the song marked a turning point in Styles' career, enabling him to embrace a more mature sound and gain credibility as a solo artist. His continued exploration of genres is a trait that Styles has carried into his later projects, ultimately establishing his status as a genre-fluid artist.

Fans were speculating that a comeback would be nearby as in the first few weeks of March a website titled youarehome.co started appearing in various newspapers all around the world, like the Eroda Island was advertised for the promotion of Fine Line. The website showed a door slightly open with images such as the Earth, mushrooms and wallpapers turned upside down on the other side of the door. It was also noted there were official youarehome Twitter and Instagram accounts. The album debuted with the best first-week sales in Styles' career.

After a wildly successful debut and sophomore record, you'd think it was impossible for Harry Styles to top himself. Yet, his third album, Harry's House, proved to be his most prolific yet. As he explained to Better Homes & Gardens, Styles felt limitations with his first album because of the pressures to be taken seriously post-One Direction. With Fine Line, he said he was concerned with making "really big songs." Now, his inhibitions have lessened — and it's resulted in what he feels is his best work yet. Others may have noticed that Styles continues his sly odes to fruit across his discography with "Grapejuice" (Harry Styles featured a fan-favorite rocker titled "Kiwi"; Fine Line included both "Cherry" and the GRAMMY-winning "Watermelon Sugar"). After that, he’ll appear in Michael Grandage’s period drama “My Policeman” alongside Emma Corrin.

So, welcome to Harry’s House—slip off your shoes, and relax on a trendy sofa. On "Matilda," Styles imagines the advice he'd give the protagonist from Roald Dahl's 1988 novel as an adult. Backed by delicately fingerpicked guitar, Styles weaves a story about dealing with family trauma, growing up and starting anew. "You can let it go / You can throw a party full of everyone you know / And not invite your family," he explains. "You don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up." And, while he acknowledges that "it's none of my business" (a subtle reference to his 2017 track "Kiwi"), he shares, "it's just been on my mind." Through his "day in the life" approach, Styles ended up with a record that he described was "so much more intimate to me and so much more intimately made" than he could've ever foreseen.

In the exuberant opening track, “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” Styles literally shouts into the void, “It’s cause I love you, babe / In every kind of way / Just a little taste / You know I love you, baby,” setting a romantic tone for the rest of the album. While details surrounding the body of work remain top secret for now, fans are already watching the newly released album trailer very carefully for any clues about what could be coming. While Styles’ 2017 debut celebrated classic rock and Fine Line embraced ’70s nostalgia and excess. Harry’s House favors a poppier sound with plenty of synthy ’80s moments and some indie pop touches. The clearest successor to “Watermelon Sugar”’s high-fructose sensuality is trumpet-heavy opener “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” which sounds intentionally chintzy and louche as Styles scats. There’s also the A-Ha jangle of “As It Was,” the hip-thrusting “Cinema,” and the ’80s slickness of “Daydreaming.” And contrary to its spiky title, “Little Freak” is all soft synths as Styles loses himself in the memory of a past relationship.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on Monday, August 15th and Tuesday, August 16th at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON. The “Daylight” video arrives just three days before Styles’ final show of his long-running Love On Tour. He’ll close out the nearly two-year trek — which included 15 sold-out nights at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden — in Reggio Emilia, Italy on July 22.
